***Why Canola Oil and not Coconut Oil?*** Canola Oil in very controlled amounts is well documented to be safe for dogs. Dogs have a different metabolism & dietary profile then humans. Furthermore; Canola Oil contains a balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids that are essential for dogs, and these omega fatty acids are known for their anti-inflammatory properties which in turn is beneficial for joint health & arthritis.

Coconut oil is rich in MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) and does not contain omega-3 or omega-6 fatty acids, thus losing out on all the joint health related benefits of such. Coconut oil has its place in our dogs diet, but is more suited for certain skin & coat conditions.
